But wait, more Harold!

This are starting to mellow at home. Gonzo is no longer hiding in the attic, but follows Harold around watching him. She still hisses if he gets too close. Hana's calmer too but not really engaging with him yet.

Harold also had his first vet visit yesterday. He IS a he, probably around 8 weeks and 2lbs. 8oz. He got a clean bill of health and was well behaved.

Nomming his foot.

Harold also shares Gonzo's passion for feather toys.
Maybe she's miffed he's taking over her stuff?

A rare still moment. He's watching Gonzo watch him.

Brought him to work today since just working half day. If you can call it working.
He's quite the distraction.

He was introduced to his first paper bag!

Harold in Action 1

More Harold

More pics of Harold. It's really REALLY hard to get a good picture of a kitten. He is in perpetual motion. The girls still hiss and pout but not as much, so I think it's only a matter of a few more day until they all become buddies. Harold has his first vet appointment this afternoon. We'll find out from the experts if he is a he. Stay tuned!

Check out that belly.

Two of his favorite toys.

Mini tennis balls is also a fav toy. Heck, everything is a toy.

He fell asleep on my business partner's back!

Introducing Harold!

My business partner's husband walks in with a kitten in a carrier. He says Michelle from Zeus' Place wanted me to meet him. She knew we were considering adopting a third cat.

Her daughter had named him Harold, if he is a he, after the book "Harold and the Purple Crayon."

I'm not crazy about the name and he doesn't answer to it so we could change it. G did say that was one of his favorite children books and that a lot of Vikings were named Harold. Really?

Harold stayed at the office with us for the day. He was very curious and playful but also took a few naps.

I'll have to take some better photos with my real camera.

Cats, everywhere

Hana hanging out in my spot of the bed with G as he reads.

Gonzo watching me water the plants. Too hot to open the windows any more.

More Sunday Snoozing

The weather this month has been wonderful and the kitties have enjoyed the opened windows.

Hana takes her afternoon snooze on the couch when the afternoon temperatures force us to close the windows until the evening. The fur on her belly is still growing in (it was shaved for her surgery).

Home again

Twin lurking around while I garden. She's supicious of the camera.

Hana snoozing. She came home today after surgery. She went in to have a bladder stone removed. The doctor x-rayed and did sonograms two different times to confirm the stone. When she opened Hana's bladder up, no stone! She did have an unusually shaped bladder and a cyst they removed. Poor kitty's belly's shaved.

Cat Café

What a great concept.

One hour of heavy petting

I went to a cat cafe in Osaka yesterday. Although, describing it as a "cafe" is somewhat misleading. It's more of a cat brothel than a cat cafe.

Belated Happy New Years and Mardi Gras.

Here's the latest from our feline household. They were not happy about all the noise that goes along with either New Years Eve nor Mardi Gras. NYE the never ending barrage of fireworks upset them. Mardi Gras is noisy, especially with police car sirens going as the police escourt krewes and "royalty" to parades and balls.

Gonzo maintains the status quo. Still equal part sweetie and stinker. Though her claws have gotten very long and she's not very cooperative about letting me cut them. I get one or two a day if I'm lucky.

Good news: Hana has lost a pound. Bad news: last time at the vet they discovered she has a bladder stone that requires surgery and $$$. We had to put it off. She has shown no signs of discomfort and it was a fluke they even discovered the stone. G took her in last week and the stone is still there and she had a mild bladder infection. She is on antibiotics for 2 weeks and then goes in for surgery. Poor kitty. Thankfully we can grind the pills up and put in canned cat food.

This is freaky and totally funny. How did people video this stuff and not laugh the whole time?

New napping spots

For cats, variety is the spice of life when it come to napping. We've all noticed how our cats cycle through favorite napping spots.

Hana now gets into G's spot on the bed when he gets up in the morning.

And Gonzo has taken to sleeping on top of his monitor.

Cat Update

I was looking over my old posts and came across one that had a photo of the three stray cats we feed. Unfortunately, we only have one now. Ballsie McBalls took off when we were having a new roof put on the house, and never returned. Mr. Whiney has been looking rough that last month and we haven’t seen him in over 2 weeks. That leaves Twin, Hana’s nemesis and, well, twin.

Twin

Hana

Evacuation with a cat who HATES getting into her carrier is a nightmare. No cat likes getting into a carrier, but I have never seen one put up a fight like Hana. I have a scar on my wrist from one time. Greg managed to get her in by himself to evacuate for Gustav, but it took both of us to get her back in to come home. She managed to draw blood from both of us. Nothing super major but painful still. If any one has some suggestions… or a cat lasso or tranquilizer gun, I’m all ears. One thing we discovered, if we managed to scoot her in backwards, butt first, she puts up less of a fuss.

Gonzo "helping" pay bills

The printer Gonzo is sleeping on has stopped working (it's under the bills and towel). But she loves to sleep on it so and it keeps her off our key boards so it stays.
